Safety, one of the things that underpin safety is understanding how many different stakeholders there are at the event.
It is not just about you and your staff; it’s not just about you and your staff and your exhibitors. When an exhibition is being conducted, there is a venue, there are your exhibitors, there are all the contractors who build stands, they do electrical, they do water, they do stand design and construction, they do registration, all the other people in the hall, and then when the show is in operation you have the visitors who are attending the show. So one of the things for us is that safety means addressing the requirements of all our different stakeholders in the appropriate way at the appropriate part of the event. So safety can be a different model when you have the show in operation and you have a lot of public in the show, versus when you’re in construction and you have a lot of builder materials and building activity in the show.
So we clearly understand that safety is all of the stakeholders at all of the different times of the event, and for us it generally means, safety generally means to ensure that we build, open and dismantle the event in a safe manner for all of those involved, and to ensure all the tasks performed are controlled and completed within the guidelines of the Government legislation, the venue legislation and the event OH&S policies.
